The 7th Congress of the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation will be held on May 6th. The venue of the event is the Hotel ‘Best Western’, Vilnius (Konstitucijos avenue 14). ‘Crowne Plaza Vilnius’ (M. K. Čiurlionio str. 84).
This Congress is special: the 20th anniversary of the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation (LPSK) also will be celebrated.
‘Every Congress is important because it shows which direction the confederation is going to follow for the next four years and its updated priorities. But this Congress also will mark 20 years of our history. We will use this opportunity to reflect on how we have evolved, celebrate our victories during the years and honour our members whose work shaped the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation the most’, says Inga Ruginienė, the current president.
In the first part of the Congress, internal discussions and elections will be held, and changes to core documents of the organization will be adopted.
The afternoon of the 6th of May will be dedicated to festivities: congratulatory speeches by local and foreign guests, awards to the most meritorious members of the LPSK and the short history of the organization will be presented. Also, a musical performance is planned.
