
The Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation (LPSK) is organizing the international conference “Social Dialogue and Quality Jobs: European Trends and National Aspects”, which will take place on 8 May 2026 in Vilnius, at the Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre, Gedimino Ave. 44B.
The event will bring together Lithuanian and international experts, social partners, and policymakers to discuss strengthening social dialogue and creating quality jobs.
The conference will focus on EU policy directions, the significance of the Quality Jobs Action Plan, and the role of social partnership in strengthening economic and social resilience.
The event will be opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Inga Ruginienė, and the acting Chair of LPSK, Dalia Jakutavičė.
Speakers and panel participants will include representatives of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) Esther Lynch and Tea Jarc, as well as Lithuanian and international social partners and experts.
The conference will also address practical aspects of labour dispute resolution, social partnership practices, and challenges at both national and European levels. Participants will have the opportunity not only to hear expert insights but also to engage in discussions and share their experiences.
The conference is open to trade union representatives, employer organization members, public sector employees, and all those interested in social dialogue and labour market issues.

10:00–10:10 Opening of the conference. Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Inga Ruginienė, Interim Chair of LPSK Dalia Jakutavičė.
10:10–11:00 Contribution of the Quality Jobs Action Plan to the EU’s economic and social resilience. European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) General Secretary Esther Lynch and Confederal Secretary Tea Jarc.
11:00–11:30 Legal regulation and practical aspects of labour dispute commissions. Discussion. LPSK lawyer Jonas Gricius.
11:30–12:00 Coffee break.
12:00–13:20 Thematic discussion “The role of social partnership in creating quality jobs”. Participants include representatives of employers’ organizations, trade unions, the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, and guests.
Moderated by Dr. Marius Kalanta, Associate Professor at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University.
