An Extraordinary Congress to Be Convened, Audrius Gelžinis to Lead LPSK Until Then

During the meeting of the LPSK Council on December 6, a decision was made to convene an extraordinary congress to elect the organization’s chairperson for a four-year term. This necessity arose after the former LPSK chairperson, Inga Ruginienė, was elected to the Lithuanian Parliament earlier this year.

The date for the extraordinary congress will be decided at the next LPSK Council meeting, scheduled for early 2025.

In accordance with the organization’s statutes, the Council also needed to elect an interim leader to serve until the extraordinary congress. After Aleksandras Posochovas, Chair of the Lithuanian Service Sector Workers’ Union, wi thdrew his candidacy, the interim leadership was entrusted to Audrius Gelžinis, Vice President of LPSK.
